Padraig Reidy was Deputy Editor of New Humanist. He’s now News Editor of Index on Censorship and a presenter of an Internet Radio Show. His work has also featured in the Guardian, the Independent, Tribune, the Irish Examiner and the Irish Post, and he has made frequent appearances on BBC Radio. New Humanist celebrated its 120th anniversary this year.
Joining Padraig will be cartoonist Martin Rowson. Martin has been a full-time free-lance cartoonist since leaving university in 1982. As well as being a long-time contributor to New Humanist, Martin’s work appears regularly in The Guardian, The Mirror, the Scotsman, Time Out, The Times Education Supplement, The Irish Times, The Independent on Sunday and Tribune.
His books include comic book versions of T.S. Eliot’s “The Waste Land” and Laurence Sterne’s “The Life and Opinions of Tristram Shandy, Gentleman”. In 2000 he was voted Political Cartoonist of the Year at the annual Cartoon Arts Trust Awards, and is also Chairman of the British Cartoonists’ Association. In 2001 Martin was made Cartoonist Laureate of London by Mayor Ken Livingstone.
