In this special edition of Little Atoms, Neil Denny hosts an interview with Robert Llewellyn and Simon Watt. The interview was recorded on Saturday 20th July 2013 at Winchester Science Festival in front of a live audience.
Robert Llewellyn is an actor, comedian and writer, best known as the mechanoid Kryten in the cult sci-fi sitcom Red Dwarf, and for his role as presenter of Scrapheap Challenge. More recently he has been the presenter of the cult internet interview show Carpool, and the author of numerous books, the latest being the Utopian novel News From Gardenia. He actively promotes electric cars and renewable technologies at science festivals and skeptic events.
Simon Watt is a biologist, writer, science communicator and TV presenter. He runs Ready Steady Science, a science communication company committed to making information interesting and takes science based performances into schools, museums, theatres and anywhere else that will have him. He has performed live to over 100,000 people and is MC/president for life of the Ugly Animal Preservation Society which is a comedy night with a conservation twist. As a writer he has written dozens of articles for national newspapers and websites including The Times, The Sunday Times and the Huffington Post. He is perhaps best known as a presenter on the BAFTA winning documentary series Inside Nature’s Giants and the Channel 4 special The Elephant: Life After Death.
