Gary Kent – Labour Friends of Iraq

Gary Kent is the director of the pressure group Labour Friends of Iraq. Labour Friends of Iraq was launched in mid-2004 at fringe meetings at both the Trades Union Congress and the Labour Party, with the aim of expressing solidarity with the Iraqi labour movement, particularly through the newly established Iraqi Federation of Trade Unions. Labour Friends of Iraq includes those who opposed and those who supported military action but are united in supporting Iraq’s struggle for democracy and labour rights.

Gary has recently visited Iraq as part of a delegation of MPs and Trade Unionists, and will be sharing his experiences with us on the show.
